Eligibility Requirements

High school sophomores and juniors attending one of eleven participating high schools are eligible to apply for Junior Fair Board membership. Schools involved in the Junior Fair Board program include Glendora High School, San Dimas High School, Bonita High School, Claremont High School, Pomona High School, Garey High School, Ganesha High School, Chino Hills High School, Ayala High School, Diamond Ranch High School and Diamond Bar High School. Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale and should be actively engaged in community service and/or school service clubs. All Junior Fair Board members will be selected by a committee comprised of Los Angeles County Fair Association members, Board members and Fairplex staff.

• The Application Form : The application form must be fully completed in order for a student to be considered for membership.

• Personal Statement: Applicants must submit an original, typewritten essay describing their most significant personal accomplishments.  Statements should include instances in which leadership, organization and community service played critical roles. Essays should not exceed three double-spaced pages.
• Letters of Reference: Students must include two letters of reference written by individuals unrelated to the applicant. At least one of these letters must be completed by a school official.
• School-Issued Transcripts: Applicants must include an official copy of their most recent academic transcripts.
