Although 17% of child care centers reported vacancies, over half (52%) reported waiting lists. Unfortunately, such programs are out of reach for many preschool-age children because of the uneven supply statewide. Children Now “California Report Card 2001: Factors for School Success”

The Fairplex Child Development Center receives funding through the California Department of Education Child Development Division, Federal Child Care Food Program, parent tuition, employee sponsors, the City of La Verne, United Way Regional Center and private donations. Cuts in traditional funding sources continue to present challenges the Center must overcome in order to offer maximum benefits our communities.

These charts illustrate the Center’s need for additional financial support to continue operations and expand to meet the region’s growing need for high-quality early child development.

The Center continually has a waiting list of several hundred families. This clearly demonstrates that a major need for child development services exists in our communities. Your support will help us fulfill our mission of providing the highest quality early education services.

Your donations and financial support will help us:

• Build a hands-on library for our children’s enlightenment
• Enlarge our computer lab to improve math and other skills
• Establish an art studio to instill art appreciation and art skills at a young age
• Expand our facilities to accommodate more children into our programs
• Provide competitive teacher salaries and benefits, and quality classroom materials
• Fund operating expenses

The Fairplex Child Development Center Endowment Fund is an exciting way to help assure that the same level of quality education programs are available for future generations of children in the greater Pomona Valley. The fund will support the purchase of modern equipment and supplies and advanced training for staff, students and parents.

Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, each contribution to the Endowment Fund will currently be matched 2 for 1. Your gift of $1,000 becomes a $3,000 contribution or $10,000 becomes $30,000. Our goal is to raise $1 million. Your donation can be in the form of cash, a funded scholarship, an annuity, a trust, a life insurance policy or a simple bequest.
