WALK WITH DINOSAURS AT JURASSIC PLANET

With a roar and a rumble, the L.A. County Fair is bringing dinosaurs back from the Jurassic! The all-new Jurassic Planet exhibit will delight, entertain and have jaws dropping from visitors of all ages as they step into a world of paleontological proportions.

Featuring incredible life-like robotic dinosaurs from every continent in the world, Jurassic Planet, presented by AT&T, re-creates landscapes from each continent and presents dramatic, animated representations of the strange and unfamiliar dinosaurs that ruled this planet for millions of years. From the fin-backed upright crocodilian Suchiomimus from Africa to the bizarre Australian plant-eating Muttaburrasaurus to the club-tailed armored South American Euoplocephalus, Jurassic Planet presents a prehistoric world of more than 20 dynamic dinosaurs.

There are plenty of activities for junior paleontologists. Dig for bones in Fossil Fun, open all day. The T-Rex Learning Camp offers prehistoric art, dinosaur flip charts, Guess the Dinosaurs game and more. For those wanting to create some art of their own, visit the Dino Craft area, open Labor Day weekend at 12:30, 2:30, 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.; then Wednesdays – Sundays at 1:30, 2:30, 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Come meet a dinosaur “cousin” at Chomp Swamp. Alex the Alligator and friends are waiting for visitors. Did you know that the earliest crocodilians evolved more than 200 million years ago? Crocodilians are usually considered to be the only living members of the Archosauria, the group which included the dinosaurs. The 23 species of alligators, crocodiles and their kin, caiman and gharials, are collectively known as crocodilians.

Walk with dinosaurs at the L.A. County Fair. The L.A. County Fair opens Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5 – 7 and then Wednesday – Sunday, Sept. 9 – Oct. 4, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred racing Sept. 10 – 28, dark Mondays Sept. 14 and 21 and Tuesdays. For more information about ways to save at the Fair, visit www.lacountyfair.com.
